A planning estimate, not a prescription.

Compost Measure provides a geometric volume estimate from the measurements and layer thickness you enter. By using the site, you agree that the result is informational and that you remain responsible for material selection, application depth, purchasing, and project decisions.

No hidden assumptions

The calculator does not choose a compost depth, mix ratio, density, weight, waste allowance, settlement factor, supplier increment, price, or standard bag size. Optional bag results use only the bag capacity you enter.

Real-world variation

Uneven ground, measurement error, moisture, compaction, settling, packaging tolerances, delivery increments, and product differences can make actual requirements differ from the nominal calculation. Confirm product specifications and local guidance before purchasing or applying material.

Material meaning

Finished compost, potting compost or growing medium, mulch, branded blends, and raised-bed mixes are not interchangeable. A raised bed's full geometric volume is not a recommendation to fill it with pure compost.

No warranty

The site is provided as-is without a guarantee that results will meet a particular gardening, purchasing, or regulatory need. To the extent permitted by law, Compost Measure is not liable for decisions or costs arising from use of the estimate.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or use automated traffic that degrades service for others.
